MG Motors India opens virtual doors to Auto Expo 2023 Pavilion in Metaverse

MG Motors India announced on Tuesday 10th January that it has constructed its Auto Expo 2023 Pavilion at the Metaverse in partnership with Metadome, an immersive 3D and extended reality (XR) technology company. The automotive brand’s metaverse, dubbed MGverse, will allow people to visit their pavilion at the Auto Expo 2023 event – from the comfort of their own homes – in a fully functional virtual universe. As digital avatars, visitors can personalize MG vehicles in the MGverse and also complete car purchases.

MG Motors India aims to attract a clientele of tech-savvy new-age car enthusiasts by bringing it into the metaverse.

“As the automotive buying journey shifts online and new-age consumers demand digital products and branded experiences more than ever, MGverse, the first of its kind, is creating a new era of immersive customer experiences,” Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India , said in a statement.

The company has created a virtual mirror backdrop for its pavilion Auto Expo in the MGverse, where the facelift of the 2023 MG Hector is presented.

Customers can also take a look at other MG car models such as Air EV, MG4 EV, MG5 EV and MG Marvel R EV, which will also be shown at the event, which is set to go live in Delhi on January 12.

The automaker had started the MGverse metaverse in June of last year.

The platform is accessible on mobile devices as well as other web browsers, and the company intends to make similar experiences available for as well Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets to provide a more realistic experience at home and at the dealership.

Interest in Metaverse has been smoldering among automakers for some time.
