BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney World said on Tuesday that it is listening to feedback from its guests and is making some big changes for the new year.

The resort said that in the coming months, annual pass holders will be able to visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Disney blackout dates will remain in place for all Annual Passholder tiers.

“While the theme park reservation system remains important to manage visitor numbers at our parks, particularly on busy days, we know our passholders enjoy more spontaneous visits – and this change will enable that,” Disney said his blog. “Pass holders also get access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and a free Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience (age restrictions apply).”

In addition to the changes to the park reservation system, Disney also shared the news that free overnight self-parking is once again being offered to guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels at Walt Disney World.

There is also good news for the guests who use it Disney Genie+ service in the amusement parks.

Beginning in the next few months, guests who purchase the Disney Genie+ service will receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos taken at the park on the day of purchase at no additional cost. According to Disney, photos will be taken of more than a dozen of its most popular attractions, including Space Mountain, Slinky Dog Dash, Test Track, Expedition Everest and more.

“As we step into this bright future, it is important that we continue to evolve to deliver the best possible guest experience. As many of you know, I’m at the parks quite often…and I listen to you and our guests about what’s working…as well as things that may need to change,” said Josh D’Amaro, chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products . “And as we start this new year, I want you to be the first to know about some of the improvements we’re going to be making – particularly the ones that our guests have been asking for and that you’ve shared with me. And while this doesn’t address everyone’s feedback, these changes will increase flexibility and enhance our guest experience.”
