With over 15 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry, Ms. Evangelista was recognized for her role as President of Bristol’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a $400 million company. In this role, she is responsible for operating a temporary facility that includes slot machines, table games, sportsbook, a restaurant and lounge, live entertainment and promotional events. In addition, she oversees the planned opening of a permanent facility in 2024, which is currently under construction, an endeavor that will require her to work with the Lottery Commission for compliance. The Bristol Casino, Future Home of Hard Rock, was the first casino to open in the state of Virginia.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Evangelista served as Vice President and General Manager of Penn National Gaming in Ohio and Maryland. She previously worked for Pinnacle Entertainment as Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of Casino Operations, Director of Casino Operations and Human Resources, Director of Casino Operations and Casino Manager in Pennsylvania, Iowa and Missouri. Her first gaming position was at Ameristar Casinos as Assistant Slot Operations Manager in Missouri. She was recruited by a former executive for whom she had worked in several hospitality positions at various hotels in Florida.
Ms. Evangelista holds a bachelor’s degree in tourism from the University of Caxias do Sul, a master’s degree in business administration from Lindenwood University and a master’s degree in human resources management from Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds a Slot Machine Management Certification from the University of Nevada, Reno. For her subsequent accomplishments, she was recognized by Bentley Price Associates with Best of the Best, Pinnacle Entertainment with Excellence in Leadership, and Ameristar Casinos Inc. with Team Leader of the Year excellent Shortlisted for the 2022 Global Gaming Awards Executive of the Yearcalled himself one of the 100 people VA Business Magazine will meet in 2023and was named one of the 25 People to Watch by Global Gaming Magazine.
Ms. Evangelista attributes her success to the support she receives from her husband and family, hard work, motivation and willingness to learn, and the leaders who believed in her and gave her the opportunity to shine. Originally from Brazil, after immigrating to the United States, she began her career as a hotel housekeeper.
