Hoverdale UK Limited, a global provider of conveyor belting products and equipment, cemented carbides and wear-resistant products, has appointed David Barter as Process Improvement Manager within the senior management team. The move is part of a broader growth strategy and to optimize operational efficiencies.
David is an experienced CIO, finance and project leader with a proven track record of delivering successful transformations and multiple e-commerce launches for one of the most recognized FMCG retail brands in the world, Aldi.
After 22 years at Aldi, including positions as Finance Director and most recently Managing Director, he was responsible for the entire technical infrastructure and applications for Great Britain and Ireland. His accomplishments include launching ALDI’s first e-commerce offerings, launching multiple online grocery services within six months, and implementing a best-of-breed ERP platform and associated infrastructure, analytics and new ways of working.
The Process Improvement Manager role was created by Hoverdale to improve the flow of information between the back office and field staff, identify opportunities for new business and markets, and maximize and develop the processes that drive the entire organization forward.
Hoverdales Conveyor Cleaner, Scratch Products and Motorized Brush Cleaning Systems have grown the business rapidly over 2-3 years. The company is now investing in its people and processes to further expand its order book, strengthen its commercial offering and maintain its position as a leader in bulk material handling optimization. They work with some of the industry’s best known names including Lafarge Tarmac, Biffa, Aggregate Industries and Tata Steel. They recently opened a new North East office in the UK whilst expanding overseas.
Matthew BeverlyChairman, said Hoverdale:
“David’s appointment is expected to transform operational growth and performance across the business and further strengthen the expertise within Hoverdale’s senior management team. His knowledge and expertise will benefit our senior management team and the operational performance of the group. I look forward to many opportunities to discuss ideas, plans and future growth strategies.
A natural leader in processes and technology, David has previously worked in various roles in finance, IT, compliance, operations, logistics and human resources. During his time at retail brand Aldi, they were a huge disruptor in the grocery market. These synergies led us to appoint David to apply his innovative vision to the conveyor belting industry.
This strategic move complements Dean Conduit’s recent promotion to Managing Director and allows me to drive new market opportunities and innovative product developments that solve our customers’ problems. Together, as a team, we will continue to challenge and disrupt conveyor product Marketplace.”
David Barter comments:
“These are exciting times for Hoverdale and I am delighted to be part of such a forward-thinking organization in the engineering sector. My role will be diverse but fully aligned with the company vision shared by the senior management team: streamlining operations, increasing efficiencies and site installations, overseeing the on-site team and expanding our ‘Approved Supplier’ status in the UK and overseas.
This will be accomplished by reviewing our current systems, improving inventory control and enhancing management information reporting – all with the aim of better serving our customers to keep their assets running.”
