In previous live streams, for example redfall, Arkane has focused on the gameplay at the moment, how the weapons work, some of the abilities you can unlock, and how you can work together with other players to combine abilities against your vampire enemies. But in this latest live stream, the Xbox & Bethesda Developer Direct, Arkane took a step back to talk about her overarching goal in the Xbox Series X Game.
Your mission is simple: cleanse the town of Redfall of all bloodsuckers and their buddies.
That may seem like a simple goal, but in practice there is a bit more to it. First off, the town of Redfall doesn’t just have a vampire problem. Human cultists have taken up residence in the community, capturing survivors and feeding them to the bloodsuckers. It’s a kind of hero worship for the cultists trying to join the good side of the jagged threats and win the favor of the vampire gods.
To rid the city of vampires and cultists, you must go from neighborhood to neighborhood eliminating vampire nests and cultist operations. Finally, when you’ve caused enough turmoil, you’ll need to kill a vampire underboss. These are souped up vampires equipped with special abilities that you will only encounter in these boss battles.
In each neighborhood you will find a safe house where you can set up a business. Arkane didn’t go into great detail about what you could do in these locations, although hopefully they’re more than just good fast travel and respawn spots.
When you kill an underboss, you claim their skull, which acts as a key of sorts. Collect enough skulls and you’ll unlock a fight with one of the vampire gods, and I don’t know how to put that other than saying they’re one hell of a blood sucker. They are so big that I think I have to play redfall in co-op mode, after all, although you can complete the entire game in single player.
I’ll make the decision as to whether I want to go it alone against the vampires as the time approaches, but at least I can plan the decision now because the redfall Release date is not far off. I just have to wait until May 2nd. And of course how to proceed game pass On day one, I don’t even have to convince my friends to buy a copy. We can just boot it up on a whim.
