ATLANTA, GA, January 28, 2023 /24-7press release/ — More than 100 members of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) recently met at the state Capitol to share their thoughts with their elected officials on important issues facing the accounting profession.
CPA Day attendees enjoyed a networking breakfast followed by a legislative update. Georgia Treasury Senate Chairman Chuck Hufstetler and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Shaw Blackmon were in attendance.
“CPA Day creates a real connection between our members and their elected officers. CPAs are uniquely qualified to act as a resource for Georgia’s legislature, providing insight into the issues facing the profession that are important to the business community and the general public,” said GSCPA CEO Boyd Search.
Chairman David Knight and each member of the Georgia CPA Caucus: Chairman John Carson, Representative David Wilkerson and Chairman Billy Hickman provided updates on important legislative issues. Attendees also enjoyed a presentation from Clay Huffman and Paul Ziga from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy.
