During her tenure, she focused her efforts on reading research reports written by securities analysts, including investigations into stock exchange compliance.
Prior to her last role, Ms. Sheffield began her career as an assistant editor at the Janeway Pub. and Research Corp. and was promoted to editor-in-chief in 1978. After that time, she was managing editor at Dean Witter Reynolds Inc. in 1980 before joining Oppenheimer and Co. Inc. later that year. She was also Executive Director and Supervisor Analyst for CIBC World Markets from 2000 to 2008. She was also a valued member of the Research Review Committee for CIBC World Markets.
Before beginning her professional career, Ms. Sheffield earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in 1974. She then earned a Master of Arts from Cambridge University in England in 1976, her balanced understanding of risk. While not prone to taking risks, she is also not averse to trying difficult things, which allows her to take advantage of beneficial opportunities that have given her a wealth of insights over the years.
