The official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S23 smartphones is just around the corner, and while leaks have all but confirmed the devices’ respective specs, the range’s pricing structure remains the subject of much speculation.
we recently reported about leaked Verizon documents suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S23Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra costs the same as theirs Samsung Galaxy S22 US counterparts (i.e. $799.99, $999.99 and $1,199.99). The bad news is that Samsung doesn’t seem to be adopting the same philosophy globally.
Documents that indicate this high Galaxy S23 prices in South Korea and Australia circulated on the internet a few weeks ago, but a new report (opens in new tab) Reliable tipster Roland Quandt points out that customers in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium are also faced with eye-watering prices for the Galaxy S23.
According to Quandt, prices for the Galaxy S23 in these European regions will increase by up to €300 (equivalent to around $325 / £260) over their predecessors, which would mark the biggest price jump in Samsung Galaxy history.

It goes without saying that these proposed European Galaxy S23 prices are monumentally high compared to their US equivalents, but wireless prices in regions outside the US have been rising steadily for several years, reflecting the strength of the US dollar versus more unstable international ones Currencies is due.
In Turkey and India, for example, Galaxy S23 prices are likely to be even higher than in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. So it’s almost certain that the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra will actually be a lot cheaper in the US than in other parts of the world. We haven’t heard many details about the range’s UK pricing yet, but we’d bet Samsung will launch its new phones in the UK at prices somewhere between those US and European numbers.
In any case, we can verify the accuracy of these numbers when the Galaxy S23 range is officially launched Samsung unpacked 2023 (which begins February 1 at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm GMT or February 2 at 5:00 am AEDT in Australia).
Analysis: Still a lot of excitement
The good news for prospective Galaxy S23 customers in all regions is that Quandt’s report confirms nearly all of the exciting feature leaks we’ve reported on over the past few weeks.
For example, all three Galaxy S23 models appear to come with 120Hz screens, with the Galaxy S23 offering a 6.1-inch display, the Galaxy S23 Plus going up to a 6.6-inch display and the Galaxy S23 Ultra with an even larger 6.8-inch display. inch display (and a pen).
Under the hood, each variant of the Galaxy S23 will reportedly start with 8GB of RAM, with the vanilla model packing 128GB of storage and the S23 Plus and S23 Ultra models packing 256GB. The standard S23 will also come in a 256GB model, while its more expensive siblings can be expanded up to 512GB (the larger variant of the Ultra will also have 12GB of RAM).
When it comes to cameras, the Ultra is set for a 200MP + 12MP + 10MP triple lens setup on the rear, while the S23 and S23 Plus swap that 200MP main sensor for a 50MP equivalent. All three models will also appear to come with a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
We’re quietly confident that Samsung’s Galaxy S23 range will launch on February 17, although we’ll know for sure after the company’s upcoming Unpacked event.
