A long and distinguished career that dates back to 1973, Dr. Humbad was a scientist for the National Aeronautical Laboratory in India. During that time, he had the good fortune of working for then-manager Abdul Kalam, who subsequently served as the president of India. Dr. Humbad was later hired by Digital Equipment Corporation as a senior engineer from 1981 to 1992, as a principal engineer for Ford and Visteon between 1992 and 2004, and as an acoustic validation manager for Mahle Behr between 2004 and 2014.

Dr. Humbad is the author of the 2023 book, “The Looming Oil Shock: Preparing for the Energy Crisis of 2030s.” He previously authored “Compilation of Noise, Vibration & Aeroelasticity Papers,” a book released in 2022 that includes a selection of over 40 technical papers. Additionally, Dr. Humbad released “Aaku Maaku Cheeku” in 2022, which translates to “Almost Nothing There,” and comprises a series of Marathi, Hindi, English, Gujarati songs and poems.
Civically, Dr. Humbad has been active with the Jain Society of Greater Detroit, a religious organization in Farmington Hills, Michigan, as a member and past president. He also served as Vice Chair of Noise Control and Acoustics Division of American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Highly educated, Dr. Humbad earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1971, a Master of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in 1973, and a Doctor of Philosophy in aeroacoustics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981. During his tenure in the field, Dr. Humbad was also active with several professional organizations.
