It found that 57.3% of Americans supported banning all tobacco products, while 42.7% opposed it.
Support for a ban that encompasses all ages, races, educational levels, genders, incomes and geographies.
Support was lower among men than among women (52.2% versus 62.2%), among whites versus other races (54.4% versus 60.5% for Hispanics and 63.4% for Blacks), among those earning less than $25,000 per year (54.3%). ) and among those living in the South compared to the rest of the country (54.1% versus 57.9% in the Midwest, 59.3% in the West, and 61.1% in the Northeast).
