Jio True 5G service is launched in Haridwar and is now available in 226 cities

Reliance Jio launched its True 5G services in Haridwar from Har Ki Pauri on Saturday, bringing the total number of Jio’s True 5G cities to 226 across the country.

The telecom company said as of today, yo Users in Haridwar would be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer to experience unlimited data at speeds up to 1Gbps and beyond at no additional cost.

Haridwar becomes the second city in the state after the capital Dehradun to be acquired Jio True 5G services, according to a company statement.

Jio True 5G is being rolled out at a rapid pace and is the only 5G service present in Haridwar offering Jio users the transformative benefits of True 5G technology, the company said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said: “It is with great pleasure that the 5G (fifth generation cellular system) services of Jio network, which launched in Dehradun city of Uttarakhand, is expanded today in Haridwar and were introduced. With the start of this service, not only the people of Haridwar will benefit, but also the pilgrims who visit the holy city of Haridwar from home and abroad, including the pilgrims who will come to Char Dham Yatra in the near future.”

According to the statement, the company has robust network coverage across the state, straight from the state capital Dehradun to Mana, the last Indian village in Uttarakhand towards the Indo-Tibetan border. It said Jio was the only operator in the state to be present in all Char Dhams, on the trekking route of Shri Kedarnath Dham and in Shri Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara at an altitude of 13,650m.

The Prime Minister also added: “The launch of 5G services by the Jio network ahead of the start of Chardham Yatra is commendable. I hope that Jio’s 5G network will be available in all major cities of Uttarakhand soon. This will be a true representation of the status as Digital Devbhoomi in the upcoming events of the G20 Rishikesh Summit. On this occasion, I congratulate the people of Haridwar and the representatives of Jio Network in Uttarakhand.”

The Jio spokesman said: “We are excited to launch Jio True 5G in Haridwar. We are to the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri. Dhami ji, and the state government for their continued support in our quest to digitize Uttarakhand. We would also like to thank all the members of Shri Ganga Sabha, Haridwar for facilitating the launch of 5G services from one of our country’s most sacred ghats, Har Ki Pauri.

The spokesperson also said that Jio engineers are working around the clock to bring true 5G to every Indian without delay due to the transformative power of this technology and the exponential benefits it can bring to every citizen.
