Mr. LuJan is an experienced paleontologist and entrepreneur who established PaleoTex LLC in Texas in 2016. A professional services company, he caters to the paleontology industry by providing an array of services ranging from fossil preparation and conservation of fossils to casting and mounting dinosaurs for exhibits. Additionally, Mr. LuJan offers professional services, including excavating bones from various discovery sites in remote places throughout the country.

Grateful for his achievements, some of Mr. LuJan’s most notable contributions have included the discovery of the first Ankylosaur dinosaur ever found in Texas in 2018, which he subsequently donated to science. He was also responsible for revamping a renewed interest in Texas paleontology. Some of his work has notably been featured in museums worldwide.

Aside from his primary career objectives, Mr. LuJan recently approached to help develop a new program at Hill College by the institution’s president. His role entails helping develop a job training certification in paleo technology to provide a pathway for the next generation of experts in the field. As an expert in his field, Mr. LuJan has also been affiliated with several well-known paleontologists and other institutions and is frequently called upon for his insight. He has also become a notable spokesperson for various media outlets, such as NPR and the History Channel.

Having previously focused his career on environmental science, Mr. LuJan was employed by LCA Environmental Inc. from 2012 to 2018 as an environmental project manager. In this capacity, he provided various environmental services, such as abatement monitoring and documentation, asbestos surveys, report writing, and air sample analysis via phase contrast microscopy. Mr. Lujan also monitored demolition and assisted with lead-based paint inspections, mold, and indoor air quality assessments.

Active in various civic roles, Mr. LuJan is the co-founder and executive director of Texas Through Time Inc. with his wife, Carrie LuJan, a nonprofit museum in Hillsboro, Texas, devoted to showcasing authentic fossils from Texas and surrounding states since 2018. His overarching goal includes helping the organization become a nationally recognized institution that offers significant research program opportunities. Moreover, Mr. LuJan has been active as a board member of the Hillsboro Main Street Committee in Hillsboro since 2019.

Mr. LuJan’s career and achievements have been published in numerous prominent professional journals, such as Nature, and featured in local and national media outlets like Shoutout DFW, The New York Times, and “Dino Hunters” on the Discovery Channel. Furthermore, his company has been recognized as the Business of the Year.

Well-qualified in his industry, Mr. LuJan completed the Leadership Greater Hillsboro Inc. program, graduating with honors in in 2021. He also holds many credentials through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Texas Department of State Health Services, and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Active in his professional community, Mr. LuJan was elected as the president of the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences in 2023. In this capacity, his goal is to form a new undertaking representing paleo artists, retailers, dealers, and other individuals in the industry. Mr. LuJan is also a member of the American Alliance of Museums, the Texas Association of Museums, and the Dallas Paleontological Society.
