NEW YORK – An estimated 12.4 million people turned on to see stars Harry Styles, Lizzo and Bad Bunny make an appearance Grammy Awardstogether with a Homage to 50 years of rap history.

This is based on the shipments affected by the pandemic over the past two years, the company announced on Monday. Live viewership was 8.8 million in 2021 and 8.9 million in 2022.

While the Grammys rebounded, they didn’t reach the viewing figures of the days before COVID. Music Showcase Night was seen by 18.7 million people in 2020.

Live TV viewership has generally declined in recent years, with professional football being one of the few events to buck the trend.

There was no immediate estimate of how viewership collapsed between CBS and its sister streaming service Paramount+, which also covered the awards. The number should increase slightly if the delayed viewing is counted later.
