WhatsApp rolled out several updates to its status feature on Tuesday. These include advanced language status privacy settings, emoji reactions to statuses, and status update link previews. The company says it will roll out these features to users in the coming weeks. The new privacy option allows users to choose who can see their status updates each time one is posted. The app also introduced the ability to share language status updates for up to 30 seconds. WhatsApp users can now also react to status updates with emojis.

according to a blog entry from Whatsapp, there are up to five new features and improvements for WhatsApp status, including the ability to share voice status, new status profile rings, a status link preview, and an enhanced privacy option. The new privacy option allows users to update their privacy preferences while posting a status and choose who can see their status each time they update it. The selected contacts will be used as the default for the next status.

Another feature announced by WhatsApp is the ability to record and share voice messages for up to 30 seconds in WhatsApp status. The app also introduced the ability to respond to status updates by swiping up and tapping one of eight emojis.

Additionally, the instant messaging app has brought a new status profile ring that notifies users of status updates from their contacts. Whenever a contact updates their status, a ring appears around their profile picture. It appears in chat lists, group participant lists, and in the contact information section.

Additionally, users can now also preview a link shared in the status updates, just like when sent as a message in chats. WhatsApp has said that all of these features have started rolling out to users and should be rolling out to all users in the coming weeks.
