Ms. Santos Lloyd is an immigration attorney specializing in working with entrepreneurs, individuals and families seeking United States visas or residency. Born in Brazil, she studied Portuguese and Russian at the University of Sao Paulo before relocating to the United States in 1999. Inspired in part by her own experiences as an immigrant, Ms. Santos Lloyd began studying law, earning an Associate of Arts in paralegal studies from Platt College in 2004. In 2011, she completed a Bachelor of Science in communications through the University of Phoenix, and in 2013, Ms. Santos Lloyd was awarded both a Master of Arts in international relations from American Public University and her Juris Doctor from Abraham Lincoln University.
Ms. Santos Lloyd’s law career began in 2002 as an immigration paralegal at Nicastro Piscopo, APLC, where she dedicated 12 years to training staff, drafting and researching memoranda, working with clients, and overseeing the firm’s immigration law practice. She began teaching in 2012, spending two years as a Portuguese language instructor before becoming a law professor and grader at Abraham Lincoln University in 2014. In 2015, Ms. Santos Lloyd was named an adjunct professor in the School of Management and Administration at International American University and an assistant professor of law at Irvine University College of Law, where she would remain until 2018. Presently, she continues to help develop the next generation of law professionals as an instructor for Fleming’s Fundamentals of Law, where she facilitates bar exam preparation classes and workshops covering topics in legal writing, study and professional skills, and the performance section of the California Bar Exam.
Since 2016, Ms. Santos Lloyd has been the managing attorney at Santos Lloyd Law Firm, P.C., a high-volume practice with a team of more than 50 employees. She specializes in high-profile immigration cases and extraordinary ability visas for artists, athletes, entertainers and investors and maintains a full client caseload while directing the growth and daily operations for the firm. As a leading voice in her specialty, Ms. Santos Lloyd is the chair elect for the Orange County Bar Association’s immigration section and a member of the American Society of International Law, the American Political Science Association, and the International Political Science Association, among others. She has written on language, culture, and foreign policy, and recently authored a chapter for a book about consular processing published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
