Marquis Who’s Who Selects Ellenda Wulfestieg is Celebrated for Expertise in the English Language

    PROSPERITY, SC, January 04, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Ellenda Wulfestieg has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Wulfestieg is currently a professional rater and English educator affiliated with the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) program of the Educational Testing Service (ETS). As a respected employee of the organization, she is responsible for listening to individuals as they practice speaking English. Ms. Wulfestieg subsequently grades them on their ability to speak and communicate effectively.

ETS is recognized as a premier nonprofit educational testing and assessment organization. Founded in 1947 and based in southern New Jersey, ETS develops standardized tests mainly in the U.S. for grades K–12 and higher education and administers international tests, including the TOEIC, through which Ms. Wulfestieg is affiliated.

As an educator, Ms. Wulfestieg taught Integrated English Level 1 through IV as an associate professor at Pierce College from 2003 to 2010. She was also an English as a second language instructor for Better English between 1997 and 2002 in Venezuela. Before transitioning into the education sector, Ms. Wulfestieg was active in several other fields.

In June of 1977, Ms. Wulfestieg was the first female ever to graduate first in both field work and classroom work for the H.B. Zachry Company Electrical Apprenticeship School. She was also the first woman to be promoted to Maintenance Foreman at the Shell, Good Hope, Tenneco, and Exxon refineries in the 1980s. In 1990 she became the first female Maintenance Superintendent at the Coastal Aruba Refining Co.

Prior to working in the oil industry Ms. Wulfestieg held positions as Ethnographic Conservator at the Museum of the American Indian in New York City and Assistant Librarian at the Astronomy, Mathematics, Physics Library at the University of California, Berkeley.

Ms. Wulfestieg has also had the opportunity to work for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) where she was the first person to successfully coordinate the daily nationwide noon meeting (the Noon Saloon) of NASA management personnel dealing with critical problems in the shuttle assembly and preflight program.

Ms. Wulfestieg enjoys engaging with local organizations and initiatives catering to animals in her free time. She presently volunteers with the Newberry County Humane Society and Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue.

A University of New Orleans graduate, Ms. Wulfestieg received a bachelor’s degree in general studies (BGS). She previously completed three-and-a-half years of coursework at the University of California Los Angeles with a focus on psychology.

In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Ms. Wulfestieg was honored with a Washington State Governor’s Award in 2008 for Best Practices in Workplace Development. She also received a certificate in archaeological conservation from London University and studied in the Yale University Master’s program in archeology. Among other accolades, she attributes her high IQ, tenacity, ambition, and strong-willed characteristics to much of her success.
