  • British Forces Resettlement Service National Careers Fair, Aldershot 16thth February 09.30-13.30
  • BFRS National Careers Fairs are a hugely successful and integral part of the British Forces Resettlement Service which aims to connect military graduates with civilian careers.
  • BFRS’ bespoke careers fair connects a diverse group of national and international force-friendly employers with service leavers looking to begin a civilian career.
  • The first BFRS National Careers Fair event of 2023 will be held on February 16 at Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre, Aldershot, GU11 2LQ.

BFRS works closely with exhibitors, some of whom are members of the Armed Forces Covenant, to actively promote civilian career paths, training and available roles. With an available workforce of over 38,000 BFRS-registered service leavers, including active members, reservists, veterans and military families, the assistance available from BFRS aims to make the relocation phase far more seamless.

Participants can explore a very wide range of opportunities available in many different industries. This event allows attendees not only to meet and speak with potential employers, but also to gain greater insight into how the unique capabilities of the Armed Forces Community (AFC) can enhance and add value to civilian job roles.

The BFRS National Careers Fair also offers attendees the opportunity to gain access to potential (ELC-approved) training providers who will not only help them use the skills they have already acquired in the ministry, but also improve them in the future. With over 600 training courses available on the BFRS website, accessing these additional qualifications is easy.

This event is sponsored by the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) which supports service leavers with their ongoing free professional training to enable a career in scaffolding.

What do logistics, a lieutenant commander in the Royal Navy and the Morson Group have in common?

Morson group has a long track record of assisting ex-armed forces who are pursuing careers outside the armed forces. For some people, this means a complete departure from the world of armed forces, for others, it means taking on a technical role in it.

RAYBROCK: Ray Brock is a former military man who benefited from his promotion within Morson’s Technical Services. We asked each of them to tell us their story so far. Ray Brock served in the Royal Navy for 28 years, holding numerous logistic roles as seaman and naval officer. He joined the Royal Navy as a Store’s Accountant and retired as a Lieutenant Commander.

Ray joined Morson Group in 2016 in his current role as Logistics Manager, directly supporting the Royal Navy and Army Rotary Aviation at RNAS Yeovilton. “Transitioning from a long service career to civilian life can be difficult, and finding a new role that leverages the skills you’ve acquired over those years is imperative.” environment and I knew they would help me succeed. My previous experience in the Royal Navy gave me the tools for a second career but it was Morson Group who were able to help me find the perfect position.” Morson Group offers fantastic opportunities across a wide range of industry sectors!

Harry Dean, Founder and CEO of BFRS says:

“At BFRS, we have successfully hosted many national career fair events over the past 13 years and have been instrumental in closing the career gap for service leavers, veterans, military families and the broader Armed Forces Community (AFC).”

“In 2022 BFRS exceeded our expectations and we were able to help over 38,000 registered (AFC) members. We have worked with over 700 force-friendly companies and have not only helped ensure a smooth transition into civilian life for service leavers, but also assisted companies in filling positions with highly qualified personnel.”

BFRS offers an ongoing service.
