With more than four decades of excellence in the entertainment industry, Ms. Wyler is the owner and independent producer of film and television for Wyler/Rymland Productions, Inc. Since 1980, she has focused her efforts on film and television production. Additionally, she lends her expertise as a board member for IndieCollect and the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capitol.
Before her current role, Ms. Wyler served as the Assistant Director for the Media Arts Program at the National Endowment for the Arts in 1976 and became the Director of Cultural and Children’s Programming for PBS in 1982. Following this time, she was the Senior Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures in 1987 for a year and took a role as the founding Artistic Director for the High Falls International Film Festival in 2001.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Wyler was producer for “Witness to Hope,” a Pope John Paul II biography that was featured on PBS, and “Hot on the Trail: Search for Sex and Romance in the Old World and the New,” a documentary “Directed By William Wyler” that earned a nomination for Outstanding Information Special for Best Documentary for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1987. In 1990, she produced the feature MEMPHIS BELLE with David Puttnam for Warner Bros, a fictionalization of her father’s World War II documentary MEMPHIS BELLE. Her films have been featured in various film festivals throughout the world and she received an award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her work. She was an honoree recognized by the Council on International Nontheatrical Events in 1986. She also was honored with an award from Women in Film and Video DC and received a Golden Reel Award for her producer role on “Memphis Belle” by the Motion Picture Sound Editors in 1990.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Wyler earned a Bachelor of Arts in Modern European Literature from Stanford University. Looking to the future, she is presently producing “The Dalai Lama’s Gift to the World,” a documentary about the coming of Tibetan Buddhism to America and the West.
