Israel Opens Proposed Crypto Rulebook to Public Comment: Details

In the first week of 2023, several nations have already made strides in drafting laws to oversee the crypto sector. After Britain, Italy and Morocco, Israel is one step closer to finalizing a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and other types of virtual digital assets. Authorities there have opened up the drafted crypto rules to public comment before officially sealing them in the coming days. February 12 was set as the deadline for submitting comments on the draft legislation.

The rules became listed by the Israel Securities and Exchange Commission (ISA) after activity surrounding crypto assets picked up steam in the nation estimated 200,000 owners and traders are experimenting in the fugitive industry from Israel.

Protection of Investors crypto sector and providing operational requirements for industry players wishing to partner with Israeli crypto investors are key areas of focus for the West Asian nation’s government, CoinTelegraph said in a report.

Like other nations are working on their respective Crypto RegulationsIsrael, too, is trying to find ways to monitor the path of crypto transactions that remain largely untraceable with the element of anonymity.

In November last year, Shira Greenberg, Israel’s chief economist, presented a detailed report suggesting possible fine-tuning rules crypto industry in the West Asian nation to its Treasury.

The proposal included giving the Bank of Israel powers to monitor stable transactions digital assets.
