Apple Music Sing was announced Tuesday by the Cupertino company as a new karaoke experience that will be integrated directly into the company’s Apple Music app. Users can sing along to Apple Music’s real-time lyrics and adjust the volume of the singing so their voice is more audible. Karaoke mode gives users over 50 dedicated “companion playlists” of karaoke-ready songs to choose from, according to Apple, along with animated lyrics designed to move with the singing.
The company has also announced a few more features that make singing with others easier. The service will allow backing vocals to be animated separately from the main vocals, allowing users to follow lines sung at the same time as the main voices. Meanwhile, a duet view is available if a user wants to sing along with an accompanist.
Apple says it will offer users over 50 dedicated companion playlists of karaoke-enabled songs for users to choose from. The feature will also support real-time animated lyrics, which are animated and move to the rhythm of the singing, according to the company.
“Apple Music’s Lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service,” said Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats at Apple, in a press release.
We already know that our users around the world love to follow their favorite songs, so we wanted to take this offering even further to enable even more engagement with music through singing. It’s really good fun, our customers will love it,” he added.
Apple Music Sing will be available to users later this month, according to the company. It works on “all compatible” iPhone and iPad models. If users want to try the feature apple tvthey must use the recently launched Apple TV 4K, according to Apple.
