Nothing Ear 2 is expected to launch as a successor to the Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earbuds that launched in 2021. Reports of the new audio wearable have been circulating over the past year and the headphones have reportedly been spotted on certification sites, while design renders have also surfaced online. Nothing, the British company headed by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is also working on the Nothing Phone 2, which is due out later this year, according to Pei. A recent leak shows newer design renders of the Nothing Ear 2 earphones and their case, along with some specs.
A smart prize report has now leaked photos of the upcoming Nothing Ear 2, and it hints at some minor adjustments and upgrades nothing ear 1 arriving at the end of 2021. In a notable design change, the noise-cancelling microphone has been moved from the rear end of the buds to the top. The style of the buds and their in-ear structure are unchanged as can be seen in the images. The case of the earbuds in the leaked images appears fully transparent.
The upcoming Nothing Ear 2 TWS headphones will, according to the report, support dual connectivity, which means they can connect to two devices at the same time, allowing the user to switch between the two seamlessly.
According to the report, the Nothing Ear 2 will also come with a personalized ANC feature. ANC stands for Active Noise Cancellation, and the earbuds are also set to allow users to adjust the level of noise cancellation to their liking at any given time as part of a personalized ANC feature.
Another feature reportedly coming with the Nothing Ear 2 is a transparency mode that uses the earbuds’ microphones to let in ambient noise, allowing the user to hear external sounds around them while using the earbuds.
The renderings in this report match an older one leak from last year, where it was suggested that the Nothing Ear 2’s design would be similar to the Nothing Ear 1, with the inside of the earbuds appearing with a white coating.
Rumors about the upcoming release of the Nothing Ear 2 have also been fueled by him Look in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) database last year. It was listed with the model number Nothing B155 and suggested the TWS earbuds will come with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. There are no plans yet to launch a successor to the Nothing Ear 1 TWS headphones.
