Personal computers have become an essential part of life in today’s fast-paced world. This shift towards a hybrid lifestyle and the confluence of employment, education, entertainment and online gaming has made PCs a one-stop shop. Consumer demand for laptops has increased as they seek tools and solutions that are effective and efficient in this new world. Trends like “earn from home”, “learn from home”, “work from home” and “play from home” are now deeply embedded in the way customers live. Although the pandemic is largely over, the new hybrid approach will remain.

Let’s dive in and take a look at these key trends moving forward personal computer demand in India.

Collaboration and connectedness in hybrid workspaces

In today’s hybrid world, it’s no longer about where we work, but how we work. With technological advancement at the forefront of this new model, we need the right products that enable asynchronous collaboration for the workforce.

Whether on the go or at home, PCs enable today’s fast-paced lifestyle with their high performance. Also, as organizations invest more in IT infrastructure to enable employee mobility, PCs are critical devices for business continuity management.

Increased acceptance of PC games

No wonder there is a significant increase PC Games Industry. With India’s youth now embracing gaming, content creation, streaming and game development, there is a tremendous growth opportunity for the PC industry. Advances in the PC industry are designed to support these native talents and provide the best experience and technology for representation.

Indeed, gambling is now also very democratic regardless of gender, age and geography. Female participation in online gaming, for example, is gaining momentum and is expected to increase over the next few years. As we move forward, we will see gaming becoming one of the leading use cases driving PC demand.

Increase in “work anytime, anywhere”

While hybrid models have proven appropriate for enterprise professionals, the large cohort of gig workers with a PC as their tech companion is moving to a “anytime, anywhere work” model.

Advanced and easy-to-use PCs have made it much easier for both gig workers and the industries they connect to to stay connected. As a technology company, we should provide relevant new “on-the-go” features and enhancements to help customers increase their productivity.

Personalized entertainment spaces are becoming increasingly popular

Beyond just working and learning, there is no doubt that post-pandemic PC entertainment is now deeply embedded in Indian consumer behavior. Confined to their homes, consumers chose to engage in conversation via OTT content streaming and social platforms.

While the pandemic has accelerated PC usage, the new hybrid world demands it. With that, the concept of one PC per household has eroded and we are moving towards one PC per person.

Much like the things we learn and adapt to in our personal lives, these unique developments shaping the PC market are certainly part of an evolving lifestyle and are there for the long haul. Consumer needs have shifted from office work and school learning to a hybrid environment: work, learn, entertain and play.
