OnePlus is ready to introduce its first customizable mechanical keyboard. The product, which will be launched for global markets, is part of the products presented through OnePlus Featuring. The Shenzhen-based company has previously announced that the product will be unveiled on December 15th. While an official reveal is still pending, OnePlus has teased several details about its first keyboard. As the company has confirmed so far, the OnePlus keyboard was developed in collaboration with keyboard manufacturer Keychron.
OnePlus introduced a new platform called OnePlus Featuring in December, which aims to bring co-created products to its users. Through this platform, the company will soon launch its very first keyboardwhich will be easily customisable. The mechanical keyboard with Keychron technology features a double seal design that avoids loud typing noise.
In an official Twitter post today, the company teased the upcoming unveiling of the keyboard.
OnePlus founder Pete Lau first announced the OnePlus keyboard, while OnePlus Featuring was introduced through a tweet earlier this month.
Although not much is known about the OnePlus keyboard yet, the company has bullied Multiple Functions. The keyboard will be made of aluminum for easy portability. In addition, it will be compatible for Mac, window and Linux. The layout is similar to the MacBook keyboard, but it also works with MS Windows.
As mentioned above, the OnePlus keyboard has customizable features. One of them is the hot-swappable feature, which allows users to swap switches for unique personalization. Another feature is the inclusion of open source firmware such as QMK and VIA.
