Google is releasing a third QPR2 update for Android 13 for Pixel phones

Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 is rolled out as the latest beta update ahead of the upcoming stable release on Google Pixel smartphones. The latest beta update is available to eligible Google Pixel device users who own their Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7 – or Pixel 7 Pro devices enrolled on the Android Beta for the Pixel program. The update brings several bug fixes, performance and stability improvements, and optimizations.

The alphabet’s own search giant made announced the announcement regarding its latest beta update for Pixel devices through its official account Reddit. In the post, Google notes that Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 (T2B3.230109.002) will be available for eligible Pixel devices. This includes the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, pixels 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel7or the Pixel 7 Pro.

The update also includes January’s monthly security patch update, according to Google Release Notes for the latest beta update.

The search giant has also listed several issues that have been fixed with the latest beta update, including an issue where group notifications were incorrectly displayed with straight corners instead of the rounded edges of the Android 13 theme, a VPN connection indicator issue, and a active background app notifications displaying incorrectly, inability to access the overflow menu in the Quick Settings tile, and support for enhanced vibration when receiving notifications.

Other fixes include messaging app crashes, a GPU issue that prevented apps from using certain visual effects, and a pixel launcher issue that prevented Pattern Unlock from being used Google Assistant enabled, along with other errors.

Google says the latest beta update will be rolled out over-the-air (OTA), and users who have already enrolled their devices in the Android beta program will receive a notification prompting them to download the latest beta update to install. Users who have not registered for the beta program and wish to install the latest update can do so by registering for the program Visit the official registration page.

The company notes that it can take up to 24 hours for newly registered users to receive the OTA update. However, users can also check for the update manually by navigating to Ideas > system > system update to download and install the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3 update.
