Huawei is gearing up to launch its new foldable smartphone, the Huawei nova Flip, on August 5 (Monday) at 19:00 local time. The device will be unveiled in an event that will be livestreamed on the popular Chinese video-sharing platform bilibili, with TFBoys’ Jackson Yee set to promote the new phone. In anticipation of the launch, bilibili already hosts several early unboxing videos, offering a sneak peek at the device.

The Huawei nova Flip will be available in four color options at launch: New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. Among these, the New Green variant appears to be the standout “hero” color, prominently featured in the majority of promotional materials. Here’s a closer look at the colors:

Unlike Huawei’s previous flip foldable, the Pocket 2, which featured a 1.15-inch circular display, the nova Flip will sport a rectangular display. A recent leak has revealed some key specifications of the device, including a 120Hz LTPO OLED inner display and a 2.14-inch cover display. The phone is expected to be powered by a Kirin 9000-series chipset, coupled with 12GB of RAM and offering up to 1TB of storage.

The nova Flip will feature a dual-camera setup on the back, with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor. For selfies, it will include a 32MP camera on the inside. The phone is expected to pack a 4,400mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than the 4,520mAh battery found in the Pocket 2, but will support fast charging at 66W. The device is rumored to have a slim profile, measuring 6.88mm in thickness and weighing 195g, though this may vary slightly depending on the color variant. Read More
