The new updates for iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma were presented at WWDC 2023. Apple has announced its latest software for the iPad and Mac lineup next to iOS 17. iPadOS 17 focuses on improving productivity while introducing new features focused on health, creativity, and multitasking. Apple also allows users to personalize the lock screen on iPad. In addition, there are interactive widgets, a new Notes app with the ability to edit PDFs. macOS Sonoma also gets support for widgets on the home screen, new screensavers, and more.

iPadOS 17 features
iPadOS gets support for a custom lock screen for the first time. The feature works the same way iPhone users customize their iOS 16 lock screens. Users can personalize their iPad lock screen and set custom wallpapers, customize font and set focus modes as per their preference.
Apple also added support for the Health app in iPadOS 17. Users can check their health data without needing their phone as iPhone Health app data is already stored in iCloud. The Health app for iPad has been optimized and designed to take advantage of the larger display.
There’s also a new Journal app and improvements to Stage Manager and Find My. iPadOS 17 is available to developers today and is expected to release to eligible iPad users later this year.
Features of macOS Sonoma
The new macOS Sonoma update introduces support for aerial screensavers. Also, users can add interactive widgets to the desktop screen. Apple has added a new gaming mode to macOS for the first time to harness the powerful performance of the Apple Silicon.
Apple has confirmed that macOS Sonoma will be available to developers today and is expected to be available for eligible devices later this year.
