Oppo A78 5G price, design, specs leaked via unboxing video

The launch of the Oppo A78 5G in India will take place on January 16th. Oppo has already teased the phone’s design, and some of its specs have been known since its launch in the Malaysian market. In a recent update, an unboxing video of the Oppo A78 5G has gone live on YouTube, giving a hands-on look at the design and suggesting the price and specs. The video shows the Oppo A78 5G with a dual rear camera setup. The Indian variant of the phone is also said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It could be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

A Youtube channel called Gadgets Point (Hindi) sent an unboxing video of the Oppo A78 5G. According to the video, the handset costs Rs. 19,000 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in India.

The video shows the handset’s retail packaging, which includes a transparent case, charger, USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, documentation, SIM ejector tool and the smartphone itself. The phone looks like the model launched in Malaysia last year.

The video shows the blue color variant of the Oppo A78 5G in dual-tone design. The volume rockers are located on the right side of the handset, while the power button can be seen on the left. It has a center-aligned waterdrop-style cutout on the display. The speaker grille, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port and SIM tray are on the bottom.

The Oppo A78 5G is said to run on Android 13-based ColorOS 13 and sport a 6.56-inch HD+ (720 x 11612 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Like the smartphone presented in Malaysia, the alleged Indian variant shown in the video is said to be powered by the 7 nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.

On the back you can see the Oppo A78 5G with a camera module with two sensors. The camera setup is said to include a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel sensor. In addition, there is also an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. It appears to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. In addition, the smartphone is said to be supported by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

oppo has already announced that Oppo A78 5G will be launched in India on January 16th. The company has yet to announce pricing and availability details for the handset in the country.
