The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G India launch date has been set for January 5th and the company’s handset will make its debut alongside the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The company announced on Monday that its mid-range smartphone will be launched in the country as part of the Note 12 series. The Note 12 series, which includes the Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+, was first launched in China in October. Redmi’s teaser image states that the Note 12 Pro 5G will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, a 50MP primary camera and a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The teaser image on the Redmi website confirms the January 5 launch date and reveals a triple rear camera on the handset. That Redmi Teaser focuses on the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G‘s camera capabilities pointing to a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization support. Especially the Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5G is also set begin on the same day.
The teaser also mentions a “Pro AMOLED” display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Redmi has also announced that the handset will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. Although the smartphone maker hasn’t given any details about the battery and fast charging capabilities, it claims that Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G users will be able to charge a full day in 15 minutes.
The company also claims that the upcoming phone will be the thinnest Redmi Note Pro handset ever and will offer a “flagship haptic experience”.
The Redmi Note 12 series started in China on October 27th. Although there is no pricing information for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G in India, the handset costs 1699 CNY (about Rs. 19,300) for the base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Redmi hasn’t specified if the handset will be available in multiple color variants and RAM + internal storage configurations in India.
