Samsung’s The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place at the end of July, the Suwon-headquartered company confirmed today (June 7). For the first time, the event will be held in the company’s home country of Seoul, South Korea. In recent years, Samsung has hosted its Unpacked launch events in either the US or Europe. This will be the second Galaxy Unpacked event this year, following the Galaxy S23 series launch program in February. At this unpacked event, we’re expected to see the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Watch 6 range.
Samsung electronics announced on Wednesday that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in Seoul, South Korea during the last week of July. The next generation foldable device launch event will be held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam.
“The foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering breakthrough innovations that push boundaries to reshape the future of mobile experiences,” said Samsung Mobile Chief TM Roh.
In recent years, Samsung has hosted its Galaxy Unpacked events in major cities such as New York, London, Berlin and Barcelona. The company says it is changing its focus for Unpacked for foldable devices to focus on various trend-leading cultural cities around the globe that closely align with each event’s theme. “Locating Unpacked in Seoul is significant as it is a city that has emerged as a burgeoning epicenter for innovation and culture as well as for the foldable category,” added TM Roh.
This time the Unpacked will take place earlier than usual. Last year it happened in August. It is highly speculated that Samsung will hold the event on July 26th. However, the exact date and time is expected to be announced soon.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are expected to make their debuts at the event alongside the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup. The foldable smartphones could work on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The event is also expected to officially launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series, including the base model Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and high-end Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
