Samsung One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 was announced by the South Korean company at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2022 held in October last year. The Galaxy S22 series received the stable version of the operating system update by the end of October, followed by a number of Samsung smartphones updated to One UI 5.0. Five months later, the company rolled out One UI 5.1. While the update claims to offer an improved camera experience, it is reportedly draining the battery of Samsung Galaxy devices.

Amid the update, Galaxy users have reported a bug with the new OS version. A report by SamMobile citing the Samsung Community book page and Reddit claimed that the One UI 5.1 version is affecting the battery life of Galaxy devices. The problem was reportedly noticed in Galaxy S22 And Galaxy S21 Devices.
While the report doesn’t cite any particular reason for the battery draining issue, it found that Samsung Keyboard battery usage has increased since the devices transitioned to the stable One UI 5.1 release. Samsung has not made any statement or comment on the matter. It is not clear if the South Korean giant is already working on finding a solution to the problem. Meanwhile, the company’s live chat support is reportedly asking users to clear cache data for Samsung Keyboard to solve the problem.
