Hitman 3, the latest in IO Interactive’s line of sandbox stealth games, is being renamed Hitman World of Assassination. The change isn’t just cosmetic, however, as the previous games in the new trilogy – Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 – will soon be merged side-by-side into one game as well. Slated to go live on January 26th, the update aims to ease distribution and avoid confusion for new players about which edition to purchase, as all game content is woven into DLCs and locations. Those who already own Hitman 3 will get a free upgrade to this new game on all major platforms.
Both hit man 1 and hit man 2 will soon be dropped from storefronts, with Hitman World of Assassination being the only option available to purchase. “Essentially, these two changes will mean that all new and existing players hit man 3 Owners have the same fundamental ownership rights over content.” blog entry reads. The new pack will be mainly divided into two editions: a standard edition, which includes the trilogy mentioned above, and a deluxe pack. The former costs around $70 / Rs. 3,299, while the latter grants access to three premium expansions – the Deluxe Pack, the Seven Deadly Sins Collection and the H2 Expansion Access Pass – for around $30 (roughly Rs. 2,478).
“We want the experience for new players to be straightforward and concrete. We believe the above changes will achieve this,” the post adds. “The reason for this flexibility is that we know that many of you own certain games or DLC while others don’t, and we don’t want to force anyone to (re)buy what they already own.” steam, IO Interactive will implement the Complete Set feature for the three DLC packs included in the Deluxe Edition. For example, if you own two of the three DLCs, you will only be charged $10 (about Rs 826) for the remaining one. The prizes are divided equally.
After a year of service exclusively on Epic game store, hit man 3 finally arrived on Steam in January of last year and was met with mixed reviews. PC gamers, already upset about the late release time, were only furious when they realized the game was still selling for a full $60/Rs. 1,888 price point. Keep in mind that the amount was only granted to the basic version, and in order to access the bonus content it was necessary to pay more. The Hitman trilogy is currently being discounted on Steam annual winter saleat Rs. 1,154. Promotion ends tonight, January 5, at 11:30pm IST.
All three Hitman games converge in Hitman World of Assassination on January 26th personal computer, PS4, PS5, Xbox Oneand Xbox Series S/X.
