Pune-based developer SuperGaming has released the gameplay trailer for its upcoming battle royale title Indus, just in time for Republic Day. Pre-registrations are now live on Android, with registrations on iOS and iPadOS coming “soon”. The timing couldn’t be more appropriate, as the company proudly wears its “Made in India” label and incorporates touches of Indian culture into the game through general architecture, nomenclature, and the lore surrounding the long-dormant titular planet. whose legends echo across the galaxy. The trailer highlights some of the shootouts, loot systems, and key locations on Virlok, the floating island map.

The recordings in the industry Trailer is based on a pre-alpha build, so don’t be surprised by some imperfections and a deserted arena. In it, you take on the role of a Mythwalker, a hitman working for the COVEN, an intergalactic syndicate trying to extract cosmium – a rare, naturally occurring mineral that can alter space and time. Reminds me of Frank Herberts Sci-fi epic Dune, a bit. This lore aspect also ties into the gameplay where, despite being a battle royale, you could even emerge victorious simply by claiming it when the time calls for it. The main goal here is to collect Cosmium, which only appears once during a game session. Skilled players can still hunt to become the last survivor.

One thing to note about the Indus trailer is that while the characters have eccentric art design, no special skills are showcased. A SuperGaming The narrator suggested that Indus is not a class-based hero shooter over watch or Brave, promise some changes in the future. “- Players will definitely see our own interesting approach to powering up players with some special abilities on the levels of Virlok sometime after launch,” they said. Still, I can see characters like Sir-Taj being a favorite choice thanks to his slim hitbox and interesting character design – the character literally has the dome of the Taj Mahal for a head. For those unfamiliar with Hindi, ‘sir’ means ‘head’ – a clever pun on the name. Then there’s Big Gaj, which as the name suggests is modeled after an elephant and makes an imposing presence on the pitch.

As seen in the trailer, Indus lets you play in both first- and third-person perspectives at launch, with the latter briefly switching to an FPS mode when you aim the scope. Players can expect a wall to be approaching, similar to most battle royale games, and skill-based matchmaking and a ranking system are part of later development plans. And of course bots/AI enemies will be added in case Indus doesn’t populate the servers in time. During launch, Indus will only offer solo queues, with team-based options to come later.

Indus will be free to play on launch day and will offer in-game monetization methods similar to other titles in the category where you can buy cosmetics and other in-game items from the store. Progression mechanisms such as a battle pass system have not yet been confirmed.

Industry keeps going Unit as the base engine with an in-house “sandbox shooter tech stack” called Indus Engine. Download size is estimated to be around 500MB, although this size may increase as more content is added. Regarding the required specs, SuperGaming claims that the game runs fine on mobile devices with 4GB of RAM or more as long as your Android version is 6.0 and above.

Pre-registration for Indus is now live on the Google play store. personal computer and console versions are expected in the future.
