Paramount Pictures’ Rainbow Six movie has reportedly found its director in Chad Stahelski. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the John Wick The filmmaker will helm the live-action feature film adaptation of the 1998 spy thriller of the same name, in which Michael B. Jordan reprises his role as Navy SEAL and CIA agent John Clark. The upcoming Rainbow Six movie will essentially serve as a sequel to Amazon Prime Video’s Without Remorse – similar to Tom Clancy’s book chronology. There are currently no plot details or release windows for the Rainbow Six film.
After THR, Stahelski will also serve as a producer on the Rainbow Six Film adaptation under his 87Eleven Entertainment banner, alongside Alex Young and Jason Spitz. The latter is also attached to the Spirit of Tsushima Film in development PlayStation productions. Both the book and the movie Without Remorse functioned as an origin story for Clark (Jordan), in which he uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife. He was then nicknamed the “Rainbow Six” and served as the commander of a secret anti-terrorist unit nicknamed the Rainbow. The IP (intellectual property) also spawned a number of video games Ubisoftin which players took part in tactical team-based missions.
While there’s no word on plot details that Tom Clancy The book synopsis notes that Team Rainbow eventually uncovers an apocalyptic conspiracy after handling several seemingly random acts of terrorism. Stuntman-turned-filmmaker Stahelski burst into the spotlight with the Keanu Reeves-led series John Wick in 2014 and soon established himself as one of the best contemporary action directors through subsequent installments of the series. He is currently attached as director to the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4which is expected to be published on March 24thand the lengthy, starring Highlander reboot Henry Cavill.
Elsewhere in Tom Clancy’s live-action universe Amazon Prime Videos jack ryan The series is scheduled to end after Season 4, before which the studio plans to add Michael Peña (ant man) as Domingo ‘Ding’ Chavez on board. reports indicate that plans for a spin-off series based on the field agent are also in the works Amazon Studios. The character has appeared in several of Tom Clancy’s novels, including the aforementioned Rainbow Six. Whether the series will merge with the film to form an interconnected universe only time will tell.
