iQoo’s unannounced Neo 7 Pro smartphone doesn’t have an official launch date yet, but we’ve seen a few leaks revealing some specs and an estimated price. The phone appears to be a redesigned iQoo Neo 8 started in China late last month. A tipster has now suggested a published timeline with more hardware details. The iQoo Neo 8 launched alongside the iQoo Neo 8 Pro in China and went on sale on May 31st.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) posted the launch schedule and other key hardware and software specs in one tweet. The source claims that iQoo’s premium smartphone will be launched around June 20th. This is consistent with a previous reportwhich claimed that the iQoo Neo 7 Pro will be launched towards the end of June.
As for the specs, the handset is said to sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is said to achieve a brightness of 1,300 nits. We already know that the iQoo Neo 7 Pro is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, but now there are more details on RAM and storage. The tipster claims that the phone will have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The 50MP main camera featured in a previous report is now said to be a Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor with OIS and is accompanied by a 2MP camera. According to the tipster, selfies are taken by a 16-megapixel front camera. The handset could feature a 5,000mAh battery and will also come with 120W wired charging, according to previous leaks.
The new details also include information on the handset’s communication standards, which are said to include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and, oddly enough, a USB 2.0 Type-C port. The source also provides details on the dimensions and weight of the iQoo Neo 7 Pro. The phone is expected to have a thickness of 8.53mm or 8.36mm depending on the variant and will weigh between 190 and 195g depending on the variant.
So far iQoo has only released one single tweet about the name of its CEO Nipun Marya, who only cryptically reveals the name of the upcoming smartphone. A previous report also hinted that the mobile phone is expected to be priced competitively between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 35,000 in India.
