Developer Naughty Dog appears to be done with Uncharted. So says its co-president Neil Druckmann, who confirmed in a Buzzfeed interview that after giving the story its “final brushstroke” with the wildly popular Uncharted 4, the team is ready to move on. This fate could also befall The Last of Us franchise if the company decides not to proceed with a third mainline entry. Druckmann commends his publisher Sony for not forcing them to release a sequel and agrees to end the story with the “very strong ending” as seen in The Last of Us Part II.
“[Sony] have supported us at every turn to follow our passions – which means just because something is successful, people think there’s all this pressure and we need to make a sequel. That’s not the case,” printman explained in interview. “For us, Uncharted was insanely successful – Unknown 4 was one of our best-selling games – and we can give this story our final brushstroke and say we’re done. We’re moving on.” However, he wasn’t quite sure if he was just referring to the series Nathan Drakes story or the franchise as a whole. cheeky dog last ported Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection to personal computerwhich contained the main line mentioned above Unknown 4 and the spin-off title focused on Chloe Frazer, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The former sold over 15 million copies PS4making it the best-selling Uncharted title in the franchise.

However, The Last of Us Part 3 is not on the priority list and the studio is under no pressure to decide what to do with the story.
Earlier this month, Druckmann claimed he was intrigued by the minimalistic storytelling in FromSoftware award-winning main work, elden ring. In the future, he plans to experiment with this style – far from it game stations First-party contributions that rely primarily on cinematics for storytelling. “For me, right now, that’s one of the greatest joys I have in games that trust their audience to figure things out,” he said The Washington Post. “[Games] not holding your hand, that’s the stuff that really fascinates me as I go on.
