Sony could be working on launching a new PlayStation 5 model as early as April 2023. A new report suggests that Sony may be planning to launch the PlayStation 5 Pro instead of launching the rumored Slim model. It’s been almost two and a half years since the base PlayStation 5 launched in 2020. Now it is believed that this Pro model will be equipped with a new and more powerful AMD chip. The PS5 Pro may also get a liquid cooling system for improved heat dissipation.
PhonAndroid has allegedly Got information from a reliable source claiming that the PS5 Pro could launch in April 2023. Since it’s a Pro variant, it’s likely to feature a new AMD chip. In addition, this model can be equipped with a liquid cooling system similar to those found on gaming PCs in general.
the PlayStation 5 contains a liquid metal compound paired with a fan. The new liquid cooling system should offer better heat dissipation than the current base model. Sony could also be forced to change the design to incorporate liquid cooling. However, there is currently no concrete evidence of this.
The report mentions that Sony could sell its PS5 shares before the PS5 Pro arrives. This new model is also expected to be significantly more expensive than the base version. In addition, the PS5 Pro could not be produced in sufficient quantities due to the current shortage of equipment.
Sony has yet to confirm the existence of a PS5 Pro or even a slim version at this point. Regardless of which model makes it onto the market, the company will most likely unveil the new model at a State of Play event. However, the Japanese company is not yet planning to host such an event. Therefore, we should take this information with caution for now.
