Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the long-awaited sequel to 2018’s web-swinging open-world odyssey, is set to release in fall 2023. According to the seasons for the Global North, Spider-Man 2 will be released between September and November 2023. As revealed in a post on PlayStation Blog, the game will be exclusive to PS5 and promises to continue the Peter Parker and Miles Morales arc in the next blockbuster chapter. There isn’t much information about the game, but a PlayStation showcase from last year confirmed that the symbiote Venom will play a key antagonistic role. Tony Todd, of the Candyman series of horror slasher films, voices the antihero.
“What a year it was PlayStation Studios; here, at sleepless gameswe were absolutely amazed by the work of our colleagues,” said creative director Bryan Intihar in the blog entry, which lists the biggest video game highlights for the next year. “Congratulations everyone on a prosperous 2022… and to the next year which will be as exciting as we always will be Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.”
Last year Ryan Schneider, Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations, Insomniac Games, Approved that “much of the development team” worked on it Spiderman 2018 returns to produce the sequel, which includes the aforementioned Intihar and game director Ryan Smith. There’s the promise of new suits and villains trying to hunt down the web-crawling duo as the game progresses PS5 hardware to its limits.
The buildup to the Spider-Man 2 launch window announcement was nothing short of dramatic. The title was shortly available Added to the UK storefront’s wishlist earlier this week, hinting at an upcoming announcement. The store page is Live now however worldwide. A little later Jamie Mayer, one of the authors of the game uncovered on her Personal website – now updated – that the sequel was targeting a fall 2023 release. The window also aligns to the last two Spiderman games, Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Moralesboth of which were launched in November.
Spider-Man 2 won’t be the only title to feature the game’s Parker and Morales. A new Spidey movie is slated for 2023 [Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse],(https://www.gadgets360.com/entertainment/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-movie-108051), and a new trailer published earlier this week revealed a number of web crawlers from multiple dimensions, including Versions of Insomniac. At this time, there’s no word on whether they’ll have a featured role, and if so, whether their game voice actors will reprise their roles.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated for release on PS5 in Fall 2023.
