The Last of Us, the TV show adaptation of the popular 2013 video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog is now available to watch in India on Disney+ Hotstar. The first episode of the show is already available to stream for Disney+ Hotstar Premium subscribers in India, and new episodes will be released here every Monday at 8:30am for the nine-episode first season. Created for HBO and starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the show is set in the post-apocalyptic United States.
Although the episodes will air Sunday night in the United States, the time difference means new episodes won’t be released for streaming in India until Monday morning at 8:30am. the first season will run for a total of nine episodes and will be based on the plot and universe presented in Video game 2013. The show will be streamed in India in up to HD resolution.

Set 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization, the show follows a hardened survivor Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) who works to smuggle 14-year-old girl Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) out of a oppressive quarantine zone. The first episode, which is over 80 minutes long, sets the tone of the show and introduces both the setting and the characters.
In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, the series’ cast also includes Gabriel Luna, Nick Offerman and Anna Torv, who portray the popular characters Tommy, Bill and Tess from the game.
The Last of Us is one of many television and film adaptations of video games based on popular contemporary titles such as The Witcher and Unexplored. The idea of adapting video games is not new; Classics like Tomb Raider and Hitman have also seen successful film and TV adaptations in the past.
