The Last of Us Episode 5 trailer is here. As usual, HBO has previewed next week’s episode of the zombie apocalypse drama, based on the Playstation video game of the same name, which teases a terrifying bloater – the fourth and final evolutionary stage of the infected – a result of years of exposure to the cordyceps fungi . The upcoming episode, titled “Endure and Survive,” is directed by Jeremy Webb (The Umbrella Academy) and is arriving two days early on HBO Max and HBO On Demand in the US so that it doesn’t collide with Super Bowl LVII event 12. February. Episode 5 will be on the services on February 10 at 9:00 am ET, while linear airing on HBO cable will follow usual Sunday programming. Gadgets 360 has reached out to Disney+ Hotstar to comment on The Last of Us Episode 5 getting an early release in India as well.
The trailer for The last of us Episode 5 continues with Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellies (Bella Ramsey) time in the ruins of Kansas City after finding themselves at gunpoint at the end Episode 4. The enemies in question are Henry (Lamar Johnson) and his deaf younger brother Sam (Keivonn Montreal Woodard) hiding from a group of hunters – new character Kathleen (Melanie Lynsky) revolutionary movement. “Things have been going great,” she tells her followers, while we’re treated to images of her foot soldiers on a manhunt. “Did not you hear? Kansas City is free.” The show continues to be a major threat to our main couple and appears to be making another major departure from that Video game 2013, by giving the villains some character building before the final standoff. It is not entirely clear why Kathleen is chasing Henry, but it is implied that the latter had something to do with her brother’s death.
“He told me to forgive, but where’s the justice in that?” she continues in voiceover as our leadership duo join forces with Sam and Henry and help them in their fight against the Hunters. Just like the game, the hunters are in the HBO Show overthrew FEDRA’s military rule over their quarantine zone. So the only third-party disruption they have to worry about is infected digging into the city. And with all the commotion and sound waves generated by the gunfire and explosions, the infected network will respond just as aggressively. The last of us Episode 5 trailer sees Ellie still holding onto the gun she stole from Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank’s (Murray Bartlett) place with which she saved Joel’s life in a tense situation. Joel now seems to trust her with the gun.
The Last of Us Episode 5 The trailer then cuts to show some action sequences as the heavily mutated Bloater charges through the burning streets and a terrified Joel orders Ellie to avoid the area. The footage also appears to highlight the final confrontation between Kathleen and Henry. “It ends the way it ends,” says Kathleen. Last month HBO renewed the show for a second season that will explore the events of The Last of Us Part II Game. showrunner Craig Mazin also suggested that the story was “more than one television season”.
New episodes of The Last of Us stream every Monday Disney+ Hotstar, at 8:30 in India. Currently, due to the early release in the US, there is no information as to whether episode 5 will be streamed in the country early Saturday.
