GNG TV: The defense is still on the field

In this week’s edition of the GoNoGo charts Show, Alex and Tyler examine a market broadly consistent with last year’s choppy downtrends and defensive characteristics. The main difference between the asset classes is that the US dollar index is in a no-go and gold is finally starting to shine. The risk of another rally in government bond yields is there but unconfirmed at this time. Within US Equities, Alex and Tyler are keeping a close eye on Utilities (XLU) and Excelon Corporation (EXC), a $36 billion Chicago-based electric company. Additionally, the recent relative strength of the financial sector (XLF) versus the benchmark provided an interesting trading idea for Jefferies Investment Bank (JEF).
