Football players Paul Pogba and Neymar might be operators in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remake. In Activision’s most recent blockbuster shooter, operator skins have allegedly been discovered by reputed data miner “CODSloitz,” and they feature characters that resemble the aforementioned athletes. On October 20, gamers who pre-ordered the game digitally had early access to the campaign section. It wasn’t long before people began searching the game’s files for post-launch additions. Now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X comes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
An earlier trustworthy tipper named “TheGhostOfHope” shared a list of upcoming operators for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The majority of the names were brand-new, but it also included well-known footballers, including Lionel Messi in addition to the aforementioned Neymar and Pogba. They refused to comment on the leak when asked by fans and said they didn’t know why football players were in this year’s Call of Duty. Despite just being announced to feature in PUBG Mobile, miners were unable to authenticate Argentinian star Messi’s presence in the game. Other than in EA Sports’ FIFA and Konami’s eFootball, this is not his first appearance in a video game.
Call of Duty has a history of bizarre collaborations; in the past, it even featured rapper Snoop Dogg and teamed up with the hit anime Attack on Titan. The addition of Pogba and Neymar in the game may be timed to coincide with the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, which will take place from November 20 to December 18. (Neymar is Brazilian, and Pogba represents France.) Nevertheless, neither Activision nor the game’s creator, Infinity Ward, have made an official announcement, so you should use this leak with caution.
Activision released a community update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in other news. The blog post states, “We cannot express our gratitude to the fans enough for taking the time to play our game – we had a record-breaking amount of players in our beta, playing more matches than ever before. Over the course of two weekends last month, the publisher held online multiplayer beta tests with early access for PlayStation users. The designers have since made a few adjustments to enhance the gameplay overall.
First off, the lighting and contrast have been improved, and developer Infinity Ward has put diamond insignia over enemy heads to make it simple to identify them from friends. For a more realistic impression, the audio range of both teammates’ and opponents’ footsteps has been reduced and is now quieter. A third-person perspective was added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which merits attention. This feature garnered mixed reviews throughout its beta testing period.
“As a result of comments from [Modern Warfare 2] beta, low-zoom optics looking down sights will now remain in third person POV. Only special optics like hybrids and thermals, as well as high-zoom lenses starting with the ACOG and higher, will switch back to the first-person perspective. According to the post, “We think that this will improve the third-person experience while maintaining the gameplay’s balance. The company has committed to keeping working on this POV and will eventually make more advancements.
