According to the Wall Street Journal, Chinese President Xi Jinping plans to visit Central Asia next month to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other regional leaders at a regional summit.
According to people familiar with the plans, the tentative addition of a trip to Xi’s schedule comes after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan sparked fear in Beijing of an accidental military encounter.
