Employees at Twitter continue to leave amid Elon Musk’s battle and a whistleblower’s complaint

Twitter executives convened with employees in response to a whistleblower’s claims that the social media platform misled federal regulators about its defences against hackers and spam accounts. Peiter “Mudge” Zatko, the company’s former security chief, has made some shocking allegations against the company. Twitter has been losing employees in the midst of its legal battle with Elon Musk over bots and spam accounts, as well as the recent allegations.

According to Reuters, Twitter’s current employee attrition rate is 18.3 percent, up from 14 percent to 16 percent before SpaceX CEO Musk announced his $44 billion (nearly Rs. 3,51,500) offer for the acquisition.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal called Zatko’s accusations “inaccurate” during the meeting, claiming that the company has never misled or intends to mislead a regulator or board members.

On September 13, the US Senate Judiciary Committee will hear Zatko’s claims. The Senate will hear allegations from a whistleblower about how the social media company misled regulators. The committee may decide to conduct additional investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, the social media company is preparing to go to trial in October against Musk, who backed out of the acquisition deal due to misinterpretation of bot data. Twitter sued Musk in July, while the acquisition was announced in April. According to Reuters, Musk’s takeover of the company caused many employees to resign.
