Bayou-inspired fanfares return to Busch Gardens Mardi Gras Festival

Tampa, Fla. – Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is preparing to be revamped for its coming carnival party.

Beginning January 14, guests will have the opportunity to hear live music, catch some pearls from New Orleans street performers, and sample delicious Louisiana-style Cajun cuisine.

“Guests can feast like kings and queens with classic New Orleans-style offerings ranging from gumbo, jambalaya, beignets and more,” the theme park said in a release. “Keep the good times flowing with classic bayou-inspired cocktails like Hurricanes, Spiced Rum Sangria, and a brand new ‘Throw Me Some Beads’ punch.”

New items on the menu this year include Andouille Sausage Po’Boy, Dirty Rice & Beans, Shrimp Creole and a King Cake Donut.

The theme park said guests can best enjoy all food and cocktails with a Mardi Gras sampler lanyard. Sample lanyards can be purchased online, starting at $40 for a 5-hole lanyard with a 10-hole option and an exclusive 12-hole lanyard for Pass members.

Busch Gardens said its Mardi Gras parade will be bigger than ever, with new celebratory characters throughout the route. Guests can catch pearls and dance to live music as the parade passes through the Coke Canopy from Zagora Cafe and Market.

For a limited time, guests can pay for a day and return year-round to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and nearby Adventure Island Water Park for exciting entertainment, events and attractions such as: Iron Gwazi and the upcoming Serengeti flyerwith the Buy one, get a free Fun Card.

Busch Gardens’ Mardi Gras Festival lasts until March 5th.
