Killer of the Flower Moon has just received a second trailer before it hits theaters on October 20th. apple tv has released a chunky, two-and-a-half-minute trailer for the director’s highly anticipated murderous western drama Martin Scorsese, while working with frequent collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. Based on David Grann’s non-fiction book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, the film serves as a sordid illustration of the Osage murders in Oklahoma in the early 1920s, in which Native Americans were killed in order to gain access to to preserve their oil-rich countries. With a budget of 200 million US dollars (about 1,649 million rupees), it is also considered Apple’s most expensive film to date.

The trailer too Killer of the Flower Moon begins with Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio), who found his way to Oklahoma and flirted with Osage native Mollie (Lily Gladstone), smitten with her darker skin tone as it storms outside. The Trailer from May surmised that Ernest was driving her around town – presumably as a taxi driver or just to give her a ride – and this tranquil scene is likely a continuation of that first meeting. “The Osage. You have the worst country there is. But they outwitted everyone,” said rancher William Hale (De Niro), says Ernest’s malicious uncle when he arrives in the new country. “There was oil on the land. Black gold.” The Osage’s idyllic lifestyle is soon threatened by the arrival of greedy Caucasian men and women looking to profit from the oil deposits.

Now, Ernest has married Mollie, leaving him to struggle with conflicting loyalties while his uncle prepares to claim all of the country’s wealth by any means possible. The killings begin and erupt in streetwide riots and robberies, all consistent with “Stadium Pow Wow‘ by The Halluci Nation in the Killers of the Flower Moon trailer. “They are like buzzards circling our people,” Paul, a local leader, informs locals in the area as the invasion reaches alarming proportions. “We’re still warriors!” But all that hope is deemed futile as a group of Osage natives are successively murdered in heinous ways, including planting a bomb in a household. This leads to a chilling investigation led by FBI Agent Tom White (Jesse Plemons) and uncovers a larger conspiracy in which Uncle Hale hires hit men to commit his evil deeds. Mollie’s family is dead too, and in such times of misery she enlists the support of her husband Ernest to exact revenge, who himself is – quite literally – being held in the tight grip of his ruthless uncle.

“I expect all of this to miraculously go away… You know it doesn’t happen anymore,” Hale tells a terrified and tearful Ernest, who is forced to choose sides. The Killers of the Flower Moon trailer also offered a brief glimpse of attorney WS Hamilton (Brendan Fraser), who subsequently represented his client Hale in court, trying to clear him of all the charges he was suspected of. The film also stars John Lithgow (Interstellar) as Prosecutor Leaward, who will try to convict Hale of murdering the Osage tribe, Tantoo Cardinal (Wind River) as Mollie’s mother and Scott Shepherd (The last of us) as Hale’s other nephew, Bryan Burkhart, who was implicated in the crimes.

Killers of the Flower Moon is slated for release in limited theaters on October 6th, followed by a major release on October 20th. There is currently no word on whether it will hit Indian cinemas, although it is very likely that it will AppleTV+ at an unknown later date.
