DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Renowned film and television producer Jerry Bruckheimer is set to deliver the iconic words to start the 62nd Rolex 24 at DAYTONA, according to Daytona International Speedway.

Known for blockbuster titles like “Con Air,” “Black Hawk Down” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, Bruckheimer’s extensive filmography aligns with the energy of the Rolex 24, according to the race track.

“Jerry Bruckheimer has produced some of the most entertaining and action-packed movies and shows of the past several decades,” said Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher. “Whether he featured fast cars, high-flying jets, or frantic foot races, his work reflects the energy we’ll see in the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, making him the perfect grand marshal for this year’s race.”

The race track said this is not Bruckheimer’s first time at the speedway. Back in 1990, Bruckheimer visited the famous track while filming the 1990 movie “Days of Thunder.”

Bruckheimer’s latest venture is an untitled Formula One racing feature for Apple Original Films, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski.

“Daytona International Speedway is an iconic venue and it’s going to be an honor to give the command for the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA,” Bruckheimer said. “I’ve been here for the biggest NASCAR race and now I can’t wait to experience one of the most prestigious sports car races in the world.”

On-track action kicks off with the ROAR Before the Rolex 24 on Jan. 19-21, followed by the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA starting on Jan. 25, and concluding on Jan. 28.

The race begins at 1:40 p.m. on Jan. 27.
