NEW YORK – Lizzo wowed as wild and crazy in a bright orange Dolce & Gabbana gown adorned with flowers and a huge hood Grammy’s red carpet did not disappoint Sunday. Tattered streetwear, t-shirts and denim mixed with eye-catching couture, wild patterns and lots of skin.

Lizzo walked cautiously as she navigated a heavy, long train that left little to her peripheral vision. After a while, she dropped her robe onto her shoulders to reveal a busty sequined corset dress in a softer orange underneath.

“Lizzo is a flower garden fantasy in her ruffled 3D orange gown with matching corset dress underneath,” said Holly Katz, stylist and host of the Fashion Crimes podcast. “And we love hearing them roar!”

Perhaps channeling her Midnights era, Taylor Swift wore a two-piece sparkly skirt that was trimmed with a high-necked, long-sleeved crop top. It was midnight blue. She added statement diamond earrings, her hair in an updo.

The marathon carpet started with remarkable looks. Doja Cat, who always pushes her fashion limits, showed up in a strapless and skintight black latex dress with long matching gloves by Atelier Versace. Bebe Rexha sizzled in hot pink with head-to-toe twists and a va-va-voom halter bodice, proving that Barbiecore is strong. The look was Moschino by Jeremy Scott.

There were golden crowns (Matt B), glittery mouthpieces (Alligator Jesus) and epic tattoos (Alisha Gaddis). And pretty much every hue on the color wheel was represented.

Slouchy and roomy appealed to many of the men, as did an embroidered denim shorts ensemble for Benny Blanco.

“Who can’t stop talking about Doja Cat wearing 30,000 red Swarovski crystals for Paris Fashion Week? Well, she certainly doesn’t disappoint at the Grammys as she totally channeled the Queen of Darkness,” Katz said. “Mia Farrow’s ’60s haircut went perfectly with this look.”

Viola Davis, meanwhile, completed her EGOT by winning a Grammy in a red, silver and blue sequined short-sleeved dress by Naeem Kahn at the Grammys ceremony ahead of the broadcast.

Shania Twain doesn’t want a Grammy. She doesn’t present herself. That, she said, freed her to enjoy fashion. Twain’s hair was red and her bell-bottomed Harris Reed pantsuit was adorned with huge black polka dots on a white background. She topped it off with a towering, matching wide-brimmed hat.

“Here I am with all my new fun clothes,” she says. Reed is a young British-American designer who wanted to support her. Her goal: “I just wanted to add some pop and cheer.”

Laverne Cox WAS “Wakanda Forever” in her tailored strapless leather warrior dress embellished by Kim Kassas and African-inspired jewelry, Katz said. “Paying homage to African culture through fashion is always in fashion.”

Cox’s leather dress by Kim Kassas honors the vision of the late fashion editor Andre Leon Talley.

Prabal Gurung gave Kelsea Ballerini a custom sun yellow look. Amanda Gorman was in a top color of the night: black. She twirled her long, sheer slipover worn over a mini dress on the red carpet.
