ORLANDO, Fla. – LYNX is preparing to expand a popular route that connects out-of-town travelers to popular tourist spots.
Link 311 was launched in April 2024 and provides a direct route between the Orlando International Airport and Disney Springs.
During a meeting on Thursday, the LYNX Board of Directors will vote to approve an extension to Universal Epic Universe next month.
Following the meeting, the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission will also get an update on LYNX connectivity to SunRail stations.
According to recent data, ridership on Link 311 has significantly increased since its launch.
Rebecca Nanowski was a passenger on the route Wednesday and said she’s not surprised it’s grown in popularity.
“It’s great. We use it every time we come. We come to Disney about five, six times a year,” she said.
With the anticipated expansion, there would also be additional service to all three new Universal Hotels: Stella Nova, Terra Luna, and Helios Grand Hotel.
“Epic Universe is going to be awesome, so I think it will be a good option,” Nanowski said. “I think the word’s getting out that more people are talking about it so that people know about it.”
The Link 311 extension is expected to begin April 20, and Universal Epic Universe is scheduled to open May 22.
