Saif Ali Khan and more star in Marvel’s Wastelanders for Audible

Audible is working with Marvel on a Hindi language edition of the audio drama podcast Marvel’s Wastelanders. The first in a six-season series, titled “Star-Lord,” will be released exclusively on the Audible app on June 28 and features several high-profile Indian actors providing their voices. Saif Ali Khan (Sacred Games) leads the pack as Peter Quill, in a slightly chubby version of the character since the series is set in an alternate version. Each season of Marvel’s Wastelanders consists of 10 episodes and is essentially a translation of the original English-language series, which aired in 2021.

Set in a shadowy, alternate future Wonder universe where the villains emerged victorious, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord focuses on a group of forgotten heroes whose minds and bodies have drifted away from what they were during the glory days. Both Quill (Saif Ali Khan) and Rocket Raccoon – played by Vrajesh Hirjee (circus) – are described as older, lethargic, and saltier than we’re used to from the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. When our space bandits discover just how hot planet Earth is in, they end up in the American Midwest – a barren wasteland ruled by the brilliants Doctor doom.

The pair then embark on a mission to find The Collector (Anangsha Biswas), the keeper of the largest collection of intergalactic relics and fauna. However, the journey slows down when they face threats in the form of Kraven the Hunter (Harjeet Walia), Emma Frost (Maninee De) and ban Ghost Riders. Additionally, Sushant Divgikr Voices Cora, the Rigellian recorder 3B02 – a robotic life form.

“For the past two years, the English-language audio epic of Marvel’s Wastelanders has brought fans action, humor and beloved Marvel characters in a truly compelling medium,” said Daniel Fink, SVP, Business Development & New Initiatives, Marvel Entertainment said in a prepared statement. “The fan response to the series has been incredible so far and we’re really excited to be collaborating with our first-ever audio crossover event audible to bring Marvel’s legacy of connected storytelling to even more listeners and fans around the world.”

Audible will simultaneously drop the remaining five seasons of Marvel’s Wastelanders in due course, with casting details being saved for a later date. The focus is on the upcoming episodes hawk eye, Black widow, wolverine, and Doom as they all team up against super genius Valeria Richards (daughter of Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four). In addition to Hindi, Audible will also publish Marvel’s Wastelanders in French, German, Italian and Japanese. “Each will feature state-of-the-art sound design and an outstanding local-language cast,” according to a press release.

All 10 episodes of Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord will be released exclusively on June 28th Amazon’s Audible platform.
