The Gran Turismo movie just received a preview trailer. During Sony’s CES 2023 presentation early Thursday, director Neill Blomkamp took the stage to introduce the theatrical adaptation of the popular PlayStation racing title. The short teaser features sleek cars and camera angles straight from the games, as well as a first look at David Harbor’s character Jack Salter, a retired racer who acts as a mentor for the future generation. In the short trailer, the Stranger Things actor can be seen supervising Gran Turismo players – the game is used as a driving simulator.

As previously revealed, game stations The upcoming cinematic project is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the British racing driver who launched his career by attending the GT Academy training program. The Gran Turismo film is slated to hit theaters on August 11th.
